Comment
The enzyme, which has been characterized from the plant Arabidopsis thaliana, is highly specific for (R)-2-hydroxyglutarate. It has low activity with (R)-lactate, (R)-2-hydroxybutyrate and meso-tartrate, and no activity with the (S) isomers.
