Comment
The enzyme catalyses the polymerization of beta-D-mannuronate residues into a mannuronan polymer, an intermediate in the biosynthesis of alginate. It is found in brown algae and in alginate-producing bacterial species from the Pseudomonas and Azotobacter genera.
