KEGG   ENZYME: 2.3.1.150Help
Entry
EC 2.3.1.150                Enzyme

Name salutaridinol 7-O-acetyltransferase
Class Transferases;
Acyltransferases;
Transferring groups other than aminoacyl groups
BRITE hierarchy
Sysname acetyl-CoA:salutaridinol 7-O-acetyltransferase
Reaction(IUBMB) acetyl-CoA + salutaridinol = CoA + 7-O-acetylsalutaridinol
[RN:R04723]
Reaction(KEGG) R04723
Show
Substrate acetyl-CoA [CPD:C00024];
salutaridinol [CPD:C05220]
Product CoA [CPD:C00010];
7-O-acetylsalutaridinol [CPD:C05322]
Comment The enzyme is present in the poppy, Papaver somniferum. At pH 8-9
the product, 7-O-acetylsalutaridinol, spontaneously closes the 4->5
oxide bridge by allylic elimination to form the morphine precursor
thebaine
Pathway PATH: ec00950  Isoquinoline alkaloid biosynthesis
