KEGG   ENZYME: 4.2.1.74Help
Entry
EC 4.2.1.74                 Enzyme

Name long-chain-enoyl-CoA hydratase;
long-chain enoyl coenzyme A hydratase
Class Lyases;
Carbon-oxygen lyases;
Hydro-lyases
BRITE hierarchy
Sysname long-chain-(3S)-3-hydroxyacyl-CoA hydro-lyase
Reaction(IUBMB) (3S)-3-hydroxyacyl-CoA = trans-2-enoyl-CoA + H2O [RN:R02685]
Reaction(KEGG) R02685 > R04170 R04738 R04740 R04744 R04746 R04749 R07889 R07893
R07897
Show
Substrate (3S)-3-hydroxyacyl-CoA [CPD:C00640]
Product trans-2-enoyl-CoA [CPD:C00658];
H2O [CPD:C00001]
Comment Acts in the reverse direction. The best substrate is
oct-3-enoyl-CoA. Unlike EC 4.2.1.17 enoyl-CoA hydratase, it does not
act on crotonoyl-CoA.
