COMMENT REVIEWED REFSEQ: This record has been curated by NCBI staff. The
reference sequence was derived from AL135902.16.

On Aug 13, 2020 this sequence version replaced NP_001265651.1.

Summary: This gene encodes a member of the type II cytokine
receptor family. The encoded protein is a subunit of the receptor
for interleukin 20, a cytokine that may be involved in epidermal
function. The interleukin 20 receptor is a heterodimeric complex
consisting of the encoded protein and interleukin 20 receptor beta.
This gene and interleukin 20 receptor beta are highly expressed in
skin, and are upregulated in psoriasis. Alternative splicing
results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul
            2013].

Transcript Variant: This variant (2) contains an alternate 5'-most
exon, lacks a portion of the 5' coding region, and initiates
translation at a downstream start codon, compared to variant 1. The
encoded isoform (2) has a shorter N-terminus, compared to isoform
            1.

Sequence Note: This RefSeq record was created from transcript and
genomic sequence data to make the sequence consistent with the
reference genome assembly. The genomic coordinates used for the
transcript record were based on transcript alignments.

publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Gene
            record to access additional publications.
