Description
Osteochondritis dissecans is defined as a separation of articular cartilage and subchondral bone from the joint surface, affecting the knee, ankle and elbow joints. The disease is caused by heterozygous missense mutation in Aggrecan (ACAN) which is a major cartilage component.
