This periplasmic quinoprotein alcohol dehydrogenase, characterized from the bacterium Thauera butanivorans, is involved in butane degradation. It contains a pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) prosthetic group. cf. EC 1.1.2.9, 1-butanol dehydrogenase (cytochrome c).
