Comment
A transmembrane glycoprotein with an extracellular catalytic domain. Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 functions as a carboxypeptidase, cleaving a single C-terminal residue from a distinct range of substrates [2]. Catalytic efficiency is 400-fold higher with angiotensin II (1--8) as a substrate than with angiotensin I (1--10). Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 also efficiently hydrolyses des-Arg9-bradykinin, but it does not hydrolyse bradykinin [1]. In peptidase family M2.
