Sysname
ATP phosphohydrolase (ABC-type, AI-2 importing)
Reaction(IUBMB)
ATP + H2O + (2R,4S)-2-methyl-2,3,3,4-tetrahydroxytetrahydrofuran-[AI-2-binding protein][side 1] = ADP + phosphate + (2R,4S)-2-methyl-2,3,3,4-tetrahydroxytetrahydrofuran[side 2] + [AI-2-binding protein][side 1]
Substrate
ATP [CPD:C00002];
H2O [CPD:C00001];
(2R,4S)-2-methyl-2,3,3,4-tetrahydroxytetrahydrofuran-[AI-2-binding protein][side 1]
Product
ADP [CPD:C00008];
phosphate [CPD:C00009];
(2R,4S)-2-methyl-2,3,3,4-tetrahydroxytetrahydrofuran[side 2];
[AI-2-binding protein][side 1]
Comment
ATP-binding cassette (ABC) type transporter, characterized by the presence of two similar ATP-binding domains/proteins and two integral membrane domains/proteins. A bacterial enzyme that interacts with an extracytoplasmic substrate binding protein and mediates the uptake of the signalling molecule (2R,4S)-2-methyl-2,3,3,4-tetrahydoxytetrahydrofuran (also known as autoinducer-2).
