An iron-sulfur flavoprotein (FAD) containing siroheme. The enzymes from the fungi Neurospora crassa [1], Emericella nidulans [2] and Candida nitratophila [4] and the bacterium Aliivibrio fischeri [3] can use either NADPH or NADH as electron donor. cf. EC 1.7.1.15, nitrite reductase (NADH).
