CC   -!- FUNCTION: Vaccinia growth factor stimulates cellular proliferation
CC       (hyperplasia) around infected cells. This effect is beneficial for
CC       virus replication in vivo, because poxviruses replicate possibly
CC       better in proliferating cells than in quiescent cells. Acts by
CC       binding host EGFR, inducing its dimerization, autophosphorylation
CC       and leading to activation of several cellular pathways regulating
CC       cell proliferation or cell survival. The activation by host EFGR
CC       of mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPK) and extracellular-
CC       signal regulated kinases (ERK) are essential for the positive
CC       effect of vaccinia growth factor on poxvirus virulence in vivo (By
