Hierarchy | The KEGG BRITE database is a collection of Brite hierarchy and table files for classification of various objects, including genes and proteins, chemical compounds and reactions, drugs and diseases, and organisms and viruses. Each file is identified by a five-digit number preceded by either ko or br (as well as jp for its Japanese version). The ko reference hierarchy are expended to organism-specific hierarchies with three- or four-organism specific codes. |

Viewer | The Brite hierarchy viewer is a simply designed tool to expand/collapse each node of the tree structure with triangles on the left or to expand/collapse at a certain level with triangles on the top. Occasionally, less-than and greater-than signs appear next to the top triangles for changing the degree of classifications (number of hierarchy levels), called zooming. |
