Taxonomy summary provides easy-to-parse tab separated flat files for NCBI Taxonomy. We provide three TSV files, allowing easy conversions from taxonomy IDs (e.g., 9606) to lineages (e.g., Eukaryota; Metazoa; Chordata; Craniata; Vertebrata; Euteleostomi; Mammalia; Eutheria; Euarchontoglires; Primates; Haplorrhini; Catarrhini; Hominidae; Homo) and taxon names (e.g., Homo sapiens), or vice versa. Using the query window, you can explore the taxonomic tree for organisms and viruses, for example, to obtain the number of species in a specific taxon of your interest.
