Comment | Moderately acidophilic, versatile heterotroph. Capable of nitrate and nitrite reduction but not N2 fixation or denitrification. Capable of degrading other plant cell wall polysaccharides, with complete enzymatic pathways (polysaccharide lyases and pectin esterases) for the degradation of pectins and hemicelluloses. Isolated from Australian ryegrass/clover pasture soil.
